The islands of Bali are one of the main things to see in Bali. The beautiful scenery, fresh air and uniquly breathtaking landscapes are something you cannot find anywhere else.

Nusa penida island

You can get to Nusa Penida by a boat available from Sanur Beach Harbour. It takes about 20-30 mins to get to the island.

When we reached my eyes felt like it didn’t know how to blink at that moment as I was awe-struck by what my eyes witnessed. In front of me was a place filled with the unending grains of golden sand, as if the whole island was made out of gold itself. Shimmering blue waters sparkled in the presence of the sunlight. Greenery spread out all around the island, with patches of different coloured flowers that grew among bushes occasionally.

Tip: The Road to the different places on the island is a bit rocky so it is advisable to book a car beforehand or you can even explore around the island on a rented bike.

Kelingking Beach – I still remember the moment I laid eyes on the beach below. I watched the crystal clear water slowly form into a wave before crashing below us, in what seemed like slow motion. The coastline curved as if drawn by an artists hand, the golden sands making a thick band between the waves and the vegetation beyond. It makes you feel lucky to be in its company, to be able to witness earth’s creation. Nusa Penida has so many amazing views making it hard to pick a favorite. Kelingking Beach is a spot that cannot be missed on your things to do in Nusa Penida tour.

Broken Beach – Broken Beach is an incredible little cove on Nusa Penida island. The highlight of the cove and the reason it is called Broken Beach is due to the archway that wraps around the bay allowing water to flow in and out from the ocean. All around the world, there are unique ways in which the earth has eroded over time. Sometimes mother nature leaves us with something quite remarkable. On Nusa Penida, one of those places that leave us in a state of awe at how over millions of years the earth has ended up as beautiful as it appears before us right now!

Angel’s Billabong – Angel’s Billabong is one of the magical spots you can’t help but marvel at. It is a remarkable formation where the crystal clear water allows you to see the patterns and textures beneath the surface. Huge waves rolled across the surface and made a thundering sound each time they hit the limestone structures.

Nusa dua

Nusa Dua means ‘Two Islands’ in Indonesian

From wondrous temples to water activities and scenic beaches, Nusa Dualists has everything. some of them are-

  • Pura Geger
  • Water Blow
  • Pirates Bay Bali
  • Padang Padang Beach
  • Nusa Dua Beach

Water Blow – Witnessing the sheer power of nature as huge oceanic waves crash on the jagged limestone cliffs is indeed a sight to behold. One of the best places to go in Nusa Dua for a tryst with oceanic beauty and splendour, the Water Blow is a must-visit site. You can follow the sign boards along the panoramic Nusa Dua promenade to reach this place of beauty. As you gaze in wonder at the unexpected surges and spray from the sweeping waves, be sure to catch some stunning shots as well.

Nusa Dua Beach – As soon as we reached the first thing I did was to stand near the shore. The cool water laced at my feet, fizzing and bubbling like brine. Even though the sun was beating on my back, beaming in my eyes, I couldn’t help but smile as the wind caressed my face. Waves ahead roared and rolled down, crashing onto the shore with a soft hissing and peeled away at the deep bronze sand beneath my feet.

The water sports there are fun and can keep you busy for an entire day. One can also enjoy beach games here or simply choose to spend a laidback evening with your loved one. Some of the best water sports are

  • Flying Fish
  • Parasailing
  • Snorkeling
  • Banana boat ride
  • Donut boat ride
  • Fly board
  • Scuba Diving

Before we entered the water, a brief introductory session was done to make us aware of all the emergency signs and basics of scuba diving. I geared up and took a small dive into the sea. There was no greater wonderland on Earth than the community of corals and fish. So far down in the ocean the sunlight is a soft diffuse glow. Those once golden rays from above are only blue in this water; and the deeper I swim the less light can penetrate.

  • Sea walk

Sea walk is one of the best experinces at Nusa Dua. At first I was so scared because of all the equipment you need to carry. I climbed down the ladder from the boat and there was a person there to help you lead down while from top another person puts on a  head protector that is allied with oxygen tanks on the boat on your head. The head protector was heavy making you sink into the sea and as soon as you sink in the pressure changes causing your ears close and open.

In the deep, with the brine flowing past our limbs, there is freedom. I had forgotten all my fear and started to enjoy the wonders of sea. My body had no weight so I could glide in any direction. This place, so far from the ordinary world above, is the wonderland of my dreams. If any part of God’s creation is most beautiful, it is the corals in the warm seas.and to see them in their natural beauty is truly enchanting.
